Welsh Language Creatives

We are looking for Welsh speaking creative practitioners to work with us at the Llanrwst Rural Show on Saturday 25th June 2022.

We want to explore things with the attendees, including what’s important to them and how they want to shape the future – all in a creative and fun way. We’re not specifying a particular artform, activity or output – we’re leaving the ideas to you.

What are we looking for?
We’re interested in ideas that engage with people, start  thinking about things differently and give a platform to share ideas. It does not have to be a creative arts activity, it doesn’t mean creating something, an object or finished piece of work, it’s more about the experience people have with us.

We would like to hear about what you are interested in doing with people at the event. We can assist in supporting, exploring and developing initial ideas.

We’re interested in doing things differently with creatives and communities.

When?
We would love to hear from you as soon as possible and by 12pm on Monday 23 May 2022 at the latest.

You need to be available for the whole day of Saturday 25th June 2022 8am – 5pm.

What are we offering you?
We are offering a fee of £500. This includes your research, development and preparation time as well as the day of activity.

There will be additional materials and project budget available of up to £200.

Who can apply?

  • Welsh speaking creative people
  • People who are comfortable engaging and approaching people.
  • Creative people who are interested in making interesting things happen.
  • People who have or want a connection with the event area.

This opportunity is open to 18 years olds and over.

How to apply?
Get in touch and we can have an informal conversation.
We are not asking for you to complete an application form, send your CV or letter.
We can arrange a good time to speak – this can be in person, online or on the phone.

After our conversation we’ll ask you to share an idea for activity with us – this can be written (one side A4 max), video or audio (2mins max), drawings, diagrams, 3D model… whatever works best for you to share your ideas.

Contact us by 12pm on Monday 23 May 2022 at the latest.

Who’s doing this?
Dyffryn Dyfodol is a partnership between Ffiwsar, a creative production organisation based in Llanrwst, Natural Resources Wales and Cartrefi Conwy, an independent not for profit Registered  Social Landlord.

What is Dyffryn Dyfodol?
Dyffryn Dyfodol translates to ‘future valley’. We want to collaborate with communities, organisations and projects in the focus area of rural Conwy and look at ways of making positive change happen.  By bringing people together for creative activities, we explore a future we all want to see. We want to find out about people’s experiences and ideas –  what could be changed or challenged to benefit all our communities and the environment? We don’t have the answers – finding out together is what the project is about.

The project currently runs until March 2024 and is part funded by Arts Council for Wales.
