Creative People – opportunity closed

Audio of the texts:

We are looking for creative practitioners to work with us and the communities of rural Conwy in creative and exciting ways.

We’re approaching things differently and not making a call out to deliver a specific project or output. We want to find creatives that are interested in working with people to develop ideas and projects as a co-creation, a collaboration, with us and people living in the communities we’re working alongside.

What are we looking for?

This is flexible – we would like to hear about you and what you are interested in even if you don’t have a firm idea of what you might want to do with people in the project area. We can assist in exploring and supporting ideas.

Get in touch and we can have an informal conversation. We are not asking for you to complete an application form, send your CV or letter.  Just drop us an email or call and we can arrange a good time to speak – this can be in person, online or on the phone.

When?

We would love to hear from you as soon as possible and by midday Monday 24 January 2022 at the latest.
We envisage the activity happening sometime in 2022 and potentially in 2023 as well.

What are we offering you?

Fee – we will pay you for your time at a rate of £250/day if we end up working together.
The number of days we will work together depends on what we discuss and decide to do together.

Flexibility – we’re flexible with delivery timescales and when we make stuff happen. We can agree on when it best suits everyone.

Support – we want to support creatives who want to make exciting things happen with others. Share what you think would help you and we’ll do what we can to support you.

Who can apply?

Creative people. Your creativity is not limited by our ideas of what creative means. You tell us how you’re creative, not let us define it for you.  We’re not looking specifically for a particular artform, you could be creative in any artform or something that is not considered as an artform at the moment. Here are some examples, but this is not a comprehensive list: applied arts, film-making, painting, sculpture, music, theatre, writing, dance, visual arts, blogging, vlogging, graphics, podcast, design, performance, architecture, interior design, storytelling, poetry, augmented reality etc….

We’re looking for people who have or want a connection with the project area. Ideally you are comfortable speaking to other people and able to travel.

This opportunity is open to all 18 years old or over.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from creatives who are Welsh speaking and/or identify as: disabled or Deaf; LGBQTIA+;  UK African, Asian, Caribbean or ethnically diverse.

We foresee a high volume of interest in this opportunity and unfortunately, we’ll not be able to work with everyone who gets in touch with us.
Any contract agreement is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Project area

The project area is Conwy Valley.

Who’s doing this?

Dyffryn Dyfodol is a partnership between Ffiwsar, a creative production organisation based in Llanrwst, Natural Resources Wales and Cartrefi Conwy, an independent not for profit Registered  Social Landlord.

What is Dyffryn Dyfodol?

Dyffryn Dyfodol translates to ‘future valley’. We want to collaborate with communities, organisations and projects in the focus area of rural Conwy and look at ways of making positive change happen.  By bringing people together for creative activities, we explore a future we all want to see. We want to find out about people’s experiences and ideas –  what could be changed or challenged to benefit all our communities and the environment? We don’t have the answers – finding out together is what the project is about.

The project currently runs until March 2024 and is part funded by Arts Council for Wales.
